| Looking west from the present day Staples Sub at the original NP alignment just south of Dale. the road coming straigh at me is the original grade, it used to pass directly under where I am standing. in the late 1880's the NP made a major realignment from Lake park to Dilworth, changing the grade through Hawley, moving the tracks south of town and built the "Stockwood Fill" makeing the climb EB out of the valley much easier. |
